President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Monday's nationwide toll was at least nine dead and more than 80 wounded, with about 90 of 120 drones jet-propelled.
TL;DR: A daytime drone hit the Academy of Sciences, killing two. Zelenskyy says jet drones now dominate salvos and intercept rates lag. Hits on Kyivstar and Vodafone are serious warnings. They are not a finished nationwide communications shutdown.

The Academy strike
Emergency officials said Monday's Academy strike killed two people. Video appeared to show a steep, fast impact. The academy sits near embassies and government buildings. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha urged more air defences.
Jet drones
Zelenskyy said nearly 90 of 120 drones on Monday were jet-powered, with about a 57% intercept rate on that type. New interceptors are being tested but not yet at scale.
Wider target list
Strikes also hit a medical facility, a pharmaceutical firm and petrol stations. Kyivstar and Vodafone Ukraine were hit Sunday. Ukraine said it struck Russian oil facilities in Krasnodar and two defence plants.
